How do I charge an electric car?
CHARGING IS EASY: AT HOME
You can charge your electric car’s battery almost anywhere: from a 230 V household socket, from a wallbox, or at public charging and fast-charging stations. There is one simple rule: the higher the charging power, the faster the charging process. Once you try it, you’ll find it’s almost as easy as charging your smartphone.
One of the great upsides is that you can charge your electric car at home from an ordinary socket or with the help of the ŠKODA iV Charger wallbox. After charging overnight, your ŠKODA electric car will be ready for a normal day’s driving without having to stop at a public service station, something you can’t avoid with a combustion-engined car. What’s more, you can control your charging via the MyŠKODA mobile app. You programme your charging, for example, to take advantage of off-peak electricity tariffs.
So charging at home is easy, convenient and cheap. An added bonus is that charging with alternating current (AC) saves your electric car’s battery, thus extending its life.
